September – Staying Safe Online
Today’s online environment is riddled with misinformation and misleading links intended to capture your personal information. Learn how to avoid these pitfalls.
October – Computer Basics
This class is designed for those that are just learning to use a computer. If you are a beginner or if you have never touched a computer, this workshop is for you! The class will teach the basics starting with how to turn a computer on, then moving on to using Windows, and other programs. Come, ask questions! Remember the adage – “There is no stupid question.”
November – Internet & Email
This class is designed for those who have never used the internet before or those with very little internet skills. You will learn to navigate the web by going to existing websites, searching for basic information, and more! Have you always wanted an email account? If so, you can create an account and learn to send email.
December – Social Media
Do you want to learn more about Facebook, TikTok, X, Pinterest or other social media programs? If so, this workshop is for you! You will see a demonstration of various social media programs and then you will be given the opportunity to either setup your own account, or learn how to use your existing account.
January – Smart Phone
Do you want to know more about your smartphone? Do you want to know how to do more than just make and receive calls? If so, come join us! We will look at settings, various apps, camera, phone, texting, and more!
February – Word
Do you want to learn to use Microsoft Word, which is the leader in word processing programs? This is an entry level class where we will learn the basics such as how to type, format, and save a document, plus we will learn a little more such as how to insert pictures and make flyers.
March (no class in 2025) – PowerPoint
April (no class in 2025) – Accessing Resources
Learn the basics of setting up an Excel spreadsheet. This will include formatting and the basics of writing formulas. Learn to use Excel to track your home budget.
May (no class in 2025)- Navigating online job searches/completing applications/resumes/Indeed
June – Excel Basics
Learn the basics of setting up an Excel spreadsheet. This will include formatting and the basics of writing formulas. Learn to use Excel to track your home budget.
July (no class)
August – Digital Downloads
Do you want to learn to check out eBooks and audiobooks from JCPL and download them to your mobile device? If so, this class is for you! The class will also go over how to use Hoopla and Libby apps and will show apps for tracking the books you enjoy.
